Recently, Nanxin Technology has launched a new single lithium battery protection chip - SC5618.
The SC5618 series is a primary protection chip for single string lithium-ion/polymer rechargeable batteries. By monitoring the charging and discharging voltage and current of the lithium-ion battery in real-time, the chip can control the external charging and discharging MOS to turn off when the voltage or current of the battery is abnormal, providing precise protection functions to ensure that the battery operates under relatively safe working conditions.
The SC5618 series chips detect battery voltage through the VDD power supply pin, and monitor the charging and discharging current of the system by measuring the voltage at both ends of the external sampling resistor. When the charging and discharging voltage or current of the system is abnormal, the series chips will control the external charging and discharging MOS to turn off through the CO and DO pins, causing the battery to enter the corresponding protection state.
The SC5618 series chips support overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), primary discharge overcurrent protection (DOC1), secondary discharge overcurrent protection (DOC2), short circuit protection (SC), and charging overcurrent protection (COC).
SC5618 integrates high-precision voltage detection, achieving room temperature± 15mV, -20~60 ℃± An OV accuracy of 20mV and a DOC1 and COC detection accuracy of 0.75mV. At the same time, precise delay circuits are integrated internally, which can achieve precise triggering when triggering protection.
In addition, SC5618 also has optional 0V charging ban function and OV Latch function, which is more flexible in adapting to user application scenarios.
SC5618 adopts a DFN6L package of 6Pin 1.5mm * 2mm * 0.4mm, mainly used in terminal products such as mobile phones, tablets, and single string battery packs that require high accuracy in battery charging and discharging voltage and current.
